This is a demonstration of how the scholars should organize and utilize all strategies taught over the semester.
Step1: Structure your paper- count your paragraphs and divide them into 3 sections/ BME- Beginning, Middle, and End. 11-p/3-s= 4-4-3- Number your
paragraphs. Make sections into BME.
Step 2: Make an Inference or Prediction on your Title.
Inference is to use your prior knowledge on what you know about the title subject. Using a complete sentence.
Friends- I can infer that this story will be about people being friends.
Step 3:Read the first 4 paragraphs-Beginning, and summarize/retell in your own words what you understood about what you have read: You will also repeat this
step for the next sections, the Middle and the End.
Step 4: Read question number 1 and use the BUCKS strategy= Box the question, underline the question; circle keywords, underline familiar words you know; and
solve the question by making a connection to the answer choices and finding the textural evidence in the passage.
*NOTE: SCHOLARS YOU MUST GO BACK AND LOOK FOR YOUR TEXTURAL EVIDENCE TO BE SUCCESSFUL ON YOUR ANSWER CHOICE.
SHOW ALL STRATEGIES.
I WILL POST A GUIDE TO REMIND THE SCHOLARS ON HOW THEIR PAPERS SHOULD BE ORGANIZED.
