I am the 7th grade ELAR Educator on the Evergreen Campus an I am excited that you stopped by to read my profile.  I graduated from University of Houston Downtown Campus with a Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Writing. Initially, I started at Houston Gateway Academy as a Disciplinary Alternative Education Program (DAEP) teacher. I then began teaching 6th grade Reading and Writing which was a challenge for me; however, it never tainted the desire for me wanting to teach.  I have been a Reading and Writing educator for eighteen years here at HGA.  Between both campuses, I have taught middle school and high school. Although I have been with Houston Gateway Academy Inc. a long time, I am still passionate about teaching because I know that "Every Child Can Learn"!  Despite some difficulties and challenges that might occur during the year, I know we will overcome every obstacle.
