Doug Hiser

Doug Hiser is the Fine Arts Professional Teacher and writer of the Fine Arts curriculum at Houston Gateway Academy, teaching Art I, II, III, and Drawing IV, originator of the Art History 4 x 4 program, and coordinating the UIL Visual Arts Scholastic Event where students compete for medals at the Regional and State Levels in the fine arts. He is a world traveler, Student of Year at University of Houston CL 1996 and the Distinguished Alumni Award with portrait and engraving at the UHCL campus 2012. He is the author of many books which includes two amazon bestsellers, The Honey Bee Girl, and Montana Mist, a poet, a professional wildlife artist and art teacher, college workshop presenter, a former football/soccer coach, a retired mailman, (that's another story) a public speaker/lecturer at conferences, an athlete, and in 1992 he was on the American Gladiators Television show. Doug Hiser’s Art is featured in many galleries and he is a frequent highlighted artist at Art Festivals and was included in the New York “Birds in Art” show 2015. His painted Art boot is featured in the Austin Statesman and a documentary film “Bootiful Wimberley”, and on display in Wimberley, Texas at the Visitor’s Center.
