FIRST, go over the ppt attached about argumentative writing, this is how you should be responding. THEN, READ this article then respond to the response questions in paragraph form. Minimum 4 paragraphs (1 paragraph = 5 to 7 sentences) 

 

 

Students, read the entire article, then tell us:

— Is it harder being an adolescent girl than a boy? What pressures do girls face more than boys?

— Or would you make the opposite case, that it can be harder being a teenage boy than a girl? What pressures do teenage boys face more than girls?

— Dr. Sax points to research about gender differences in levels of body dissatisfaction, social media usage and overall anxiety. Do these differences ring true for you and your friends and siblings? Are they significant?

— He suggests ways parents can support their teenage girls and boys to improve emotional well-being. For example, he strongly recommends that there should be nothing in the bedroom except a bed: no TV, no PlayStation, no screens. He also suggests: Eat meals together as a family and have no headphones in the car. What do you think of these suggestions? What other suggestions would you make?
