The Technology philosophy for Houston Gateway
Academy is implemented to improve schools and raise standards
by integrating technology in the classrooms. We strongly
believe that technology is the future and the key to making
our schools a better place to learn. We will empower students
and staff to participate in a rapidly changing world by
providing appropriate technology resources and support their
innovations and discoveries.
At Houston Gateway Academy, the program is
designed to accommodate faculty, staff, and students by
arming them with the necessary technology tools that will
be used on a daily basis. The assignments are to plan, deploy,
administer, and maintain the technology infrastructure for
Houston Gateway Academy Charter Schools.
The Technology department was created on September
9th, 2002 with the vision and goal of integrating technology
to HGA. We began with 1 router, 1 server, 3 switches, and
35 workstations. To date, it has made tremendous gains and
has made a positive impact on Houston Gateway Academy for
the 2002-2005 school years.
The Technology department is proud to say
that we have reached several of our many goals of integrating
technology at HGA and it has been most successful. We have
increased our growth tremendously with 13 servers, 12 switches,
3 routers, 3 wireless antennas, and 155 workstations between
the three campuses and the district office. Countless hours
of time and effort combined with much application made this
task possible for the technology team.

the classrooms and prepare our students today for the world
or tomorrow.
